How Do We Let People Know What We Do?

On the last Saturday of March, Most Worshipful Brother Reg Kuhn, Grand Master in Nebraska, called a meeting of all committees.  The Membership, Education, Public Relations, Scholarship, Youth and other committees came together to learn what the Grand Master had planned for us to do.  Instead of giving us a vision of 2008, MWB Kuhn challenged us to come up with ideas that we wanted to share to make the Grand Lodge and its committees more helpful to the local Lodges.

Each committee met separately to discuss ideas.  The Public Relations Committee decided that they should take responsibility for content on the website to keep current and add needed programs that will make it a “place to go” for Masonic information in Nebraska by the membership.  This will start with monthly articles written to keep you informed of current points of interest and to explain the workings of the committees.

Also, we feel that Masonic Members, although told of Lodge activities, often forget what their Lodge does during the year.  We plan to put together a form to be sent to the Lodges to detail their community activities.  Examples of these activities would include; scholarships, CHIP Events, support of local baseball team, etc.  We need to make sure the public knows of our good works but also to remind our own members as well.  We are going to highlight these Lodges each month on our website and quarterly in the Nebraska Mason.

Public Relations will also review current printed brochures to see if they need updated or replaced with better material.  We will coordinate our work with the Membership and Education Committees to make sure we are working together for the good of Nebraska Masonry.

We have set our next meeting for May 17th to go over what we have done and what we need to add.  Please look forward to hearing from us in the future.
